The initial winery building which is now the Red
Production Room, was built in 1997. A building which contains
the new case storage, as well as the White Wine Room and the
Bottling Room was added in 2000.
The winery now has a capacity of 14,500 gal and is pushing
to 20,000 gal. With the purchase of an 8 acre vineyard in Grand Junction,
in the spring of 2007 they will open the new tasting room at
the vineyard. The 3000 sq. ft. structure built in 2005 -
2006 will allow
expansion to meet the goals of the future.
Its modern facility utilizes proven old world techniques with
modern equipment gentle fruit handling, temperature
controlled white fermentation and small lot red wine production.
Stoney Mesa has pioneered the
production of wine grapes and winemaking in the area.
